Board Elections
The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping terms of three years each. Elections are conducted annually in May. Following the annual election, the board elects a president, vice president, and secretary to serve for a one year term.

* According to the Texas Election Code, an individual is eligible to be a candidate for, or elected or appointed to, a Texas school board if the individual has resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the District from which the office is elected for six months immediately preceding the following date: for an independent candidate, the date of the regular filing deadline for a candidate’s application for a place on the ballot.
Application process:
Candidate application packets are available at the District Support Center located at 4632 NE Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas. The application is also available from the Secretary of State’s website: Click here for the forms index.
First day to file: Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
Last day to file: Friday, February 16, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
Deadline for Write-in Candidacy: Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
Applications must be signed, notarized, and state the place for which the applicant is a candidate. Applications and completed forms can be:
